Failure to provide a child with adequate clothing  & leaving a child habitually unattended  are further examples of child abuse. These are common phenomenon back in the good old days. I shall show you some pictures.

During those periods of colonial rule, there were practically no child care centres, creches, nursery. So young children became victims of child abuse.

The babysitters themselves aged less than ten. They became the caregivers who should be taken care of by their parents. The infants in turn received little attention from those who were ill-equipped for the jobs.

Widely regarded as one who is capable of breaking Haile Gebrselassie's world record, Sam (23)stormed into victory in London today. All eyes on him in Berlin to achieve this feat. To use a popular metaphor, he is now on fire.

Everyone can recall how he easily clinched the Beijing Olympic championship last year.

In any event his time is the new course record.

It is still a mystery she couldn't even make it to the top 10. Was she injured ? She was spent?

A time of 2:29:02 at position 12th was way too slow from her PR.

I wonder what has happened to the Beijing Olympic champion Constantina Tomescu too? At the age of 38 should she stop competing altogether?

The winner certainly is the hot German favourite Irina Mikitenko who successfully defended her title. The first runner up is Mara Yamauchi , a British diplomat married to a Japanese. This is her personal best making her triumphantly standing first time ever on the podium of this particular World Marathon Major race.

He placed 51st overall clocking 2:38:05 (official time)

According to a blogger  Tanvir Kazmi :

"Tokyo marathon upped the participation limit to 35,000 this year, 5000 more than the last year. For these 35,000 slots, a total of 261,981people applied, which means 1 out of every 7.5 got selected. Last years number was 1 out of 4.7 applicants."

However, as far as I know almost every applicant here had been accepted. Perhaps this favouritism was to promote tourism.

This was my last tune-up race before the Tokyo Marathon.

The performance was a bit disappointed, almost the same as it was last year.

The start was congested and chaotic, running the risk of crashing against the bollards. So the 1st K took more than 5'.
